We often get a second chance to look at an old problem, beat the odds or simply start again. In helping a young Australian women with her horses we found the solutions in the proper head gear and a new confidence and when she rode again it was glorious. She felt liberated. And the horses? Changed, renewed, proud and displaying untapped talent. Bringing out the best in our world, its people and its creatures is thrilling beyond description.
Through mentoring in leadership workshops I could open the door so participants felt safe to come back to their lives. After a session a couple wrote they were “Looking forward to making the changes in our lives.” When we are liberated from our fears all things are possible.
And what have I done? Besides all things physical on steep mountains and barren ground – it is more the handing over of my families lives back to them. Wife, mother, grandmother, mother in law, daughter and auntie – I remain only one. And I would want to be one that builds and has no expectation of an outcome. I believe compassion is a universal language and trusting is an immeasurable virtue. No worries if one does not it right the first time. Life gives us an encore! We are here to inspire others.
